Robert Brent Calvin of San Andreas died on November 11, 2013. He was 54.Bob was born on June 9, 1959 in Ceres, to parents Bob and Rita Calvin. Raised in Mokelumne Hill, he graduated from Mokelumne Hill Grammar School and Calaveras High School.
He furthered his education at CalPoly, San Luis Obispo, graduating in 1981, and then worked as an Agricultural Loan Officer for Production Credit Association in Paso Robles, Visalia and Bakersfield.
He then pursued a career in real estate as an agent in Bakersfield and Jackson. Adding to his broker's license, he became a real estate appraiser and worked in Amador and Calaveras Counties.
He was a reader of a wide variety of subjects, was a writer of poetry and painted landscapes. He was also an avid sports fan, following the Oakland Athletics and the Oakland Raiders.
He is survived by his parents, Bob and Rita Calvin of Mokelumne Hill, brother Larry Calvin (Susan) of Valley Home, niece Casey Calvin of Valley Home and sister Marcia Calvin of Sacramento; numerous aunts uncles and cousins.
He is predeceased by his grandparents George and Daisy Calvin of West Point and Dewey and Bertha Fischer of Mokelumne Hill.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 1 PM at the Mokelumne Hill Town Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests you donate contributions in his memory to a charity of your choice.
San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
