Calaveras Supervisors Spellman and Callaway want higher RIM Fees

At the November 12, 2013 Calaveras Supervisors meeting, after a lengthy discussion, with not one single person in the audience speaking in favor of raising the Road Impact Mitigation fees on builders, Supervisors Spellman and Callaway were the only two pushing for the increase.

As many in the audience stated, "there is no development" and "this idea has failed". One person suggested lowering or eliminating them to increase business.

This person apparently doesn't realize that this Boards' main purpose is to close businesses and put people out of jobs.

When it came time for the motion, the resolution failed for lack of a motion.  This may be the only fee they don't raise, since the County Administrative Office has supported increasing everything on the residents who already live here.

It was scheduled with the General Plan unveiling in a year. Does that mean it won't be put on as an agenda item for conformity discussion related to mitigation of 07-242 and the old Road Ordinance?
In a year, it will be shove it down the throat of the citizens. Drastic measures for drastic times. Can't wait for preliminary budget hearings. Does anyone know when the budget deficits started? Who were the supervisors? That would be an interesting news report.

How many other ordinance issues are hanging out, waiting for the General Plan to come forward? Are the taxpayers getting a bang for their buck?
It'll be interesting to see the comments when the bos push for increased taxes. Increased taxes that affect all citizens. The difference between citizens and government folks, government folks including the bos get an annual cost of living increase based on union contracts. The bos get an automatic raise due to their COLA being tied to union contracts.
Citizens spendable income goes down. How does it feel to realize you are a servant of the government?
