If you read any of the political websites you know that Calaveras County is in financial trouble.
At their last Board meeting on October 29, 2013 in fact, they were given a list of ways to tax their consituents to death. And they plan on doing JUST THAT!!
The environmental clubs like MVS.com and CPC REFUSE to make up the difference in the money the county was getting from new homes. It figures!!
What about Infusino. He's a rich environmental attorney, right? He should pay for what he gets--no new homes!! Send in your check from your OTHER county. Make payable to CASH!!
A mix of fees, taxes, and other use fees were presented by the new CAO, Lori Norton. This board is made up of anti-growthers, voting down even the smallest of building projects, led by Cliff Edson and Debbie Ponte.
Ponte is a rancher liberal, only interested in doing what her rancher husband and his friends want; and Edson is a total anti-job, no-growth liberal who says "Just shop local" is the answer to problems. (Well, that and raising every tax and fee in sight.)
Unfortunately, the brightest and the best are clearly not the people who get elected. After all, we have Spellman and Wright (the clear-cut brothers) on the Board. And these 5 don't have a clue!!
