Angels Camp City Council Violates Constituional right to free speech?

For those of us who remember, the Angels Camp City Council expressed fear of a man named George Fry, who at one time came to City Council meetings regularly.

The Council, especially one councilperson in particular, was very fearful of Mr. Fry and even had the Angels Camp Police Department come and stand behind Mr. Fry when he spoke.

Fry spoke in what they felt was a threatening manner, and because of him alone, they rearranged their tables so he couldn't get to them easily.

That was when they wrote the rules for making public comments so strangely tight that most felt they infringed on the public's right constitutionally, to criticize the Council. Since that time, Mr. Fry has moved away from the City.

It is a fact that the Angels Camp City Council does not like ANY criticism! Everyone knows that. Will they stop violating the voters constitutional right to criticize them. Should be interesting!!

that's right. It was all about George Fry. He ran for office and was defeated wasn't he? They hated him. I saw the cops there one night. they would stand right near him. I think it was lynch who was afraid of him, wasn't it?

I didn't know this Fry guy, but I do know that they don't like to be criticized. They consider themselves pariahs.

Maybe they need to read the Sentinel more often to see what's being said about them. I did go to the meeting last night and it was a very quick, short to the point meeting. They did bail out and rescind their original descision on the private property they were going to take from property owners. It seemed like they did not want to get involved in a court suit and mentioned that yes, it was a personal issue with MANERY and the property owners. Looks like MANERY did not get his way via his friends. Are they maybe seeing or hearing what's going on within the local talk, maybe.
