Hard to believe, but the Chair of the Calaveras Board of Supervisors went over and had approved three items on the agenda December 10, 2013 and NEVER asked for public comment.
Violation of the Brown Act is nothing new to the Calaveras Supervisors. Joe Kelly, who is a regular attendee at the Board of Supervisor meetings and is not given much, if any, respect by the Chair, started complaining this time after the third item.
He reminded them that they had just had Brown Act training and they still skip the public when they can get away with it.
At first Callaway said she had asked for it, but then realizing she was on camera, said that she had asked for representatives of the agenda item only.
In addition to the Chairs trying to skip the public, NOT ONE other Supervisor called her attention to the violation. Unfortunately, it seems they have become a pack.
She then re-opened all three items, and Mr. Kelly stated that he wanted to know how they can charge $10,000 administrative fees and call adding on without a permit a public nuisance. Good question, Mr. Kelly.
One address was 2997 Hwy 4 in Murphys and we intend to check it out as to what the exact situation is, if we can.

The people, in delegating authority, do not give their public servants the right to decide what is good for the people to know and what is not good for them to know.
(Excerpt) Government Code section 54950.
What is the bos interpretation of the intent of the Brown Act?
