This week the Calaveras Planning Commissioners, representing their 5 Supervisors for that district, met to decide what to do with the plans submitted for recreational vehicle storage near
Forest Meadows.
This was the second hearing for the plan, which was superbly and appropriately handled by Robin Peters of Cal State Engineering, who represented the property owner.
The usual biddy bodies were out both from Forest Meadows and from Valley Springs, and there was the perpetual campaigner, always anywhere she can get herself on camera and not making any sense whatsoever.
At the first hearing the Planning Commission were totally in favor of the project and were willing to allow Caltrans to handle the safety issues.
What happened between hearings? Well, Callaway was bombarded with both a petition signed by 350 of her voting constituents against it and her phone rang off the hook complaining.
This is an election year, after all and until in the grave, Callaway will be running again and again and again and again for Supervisor, in spite of the fact that she has virtually destroyed businesses, and jobs and actually considered that her main objective.
Funny how everything was changed for this hearing; the staff was ready with a recommendation to approve the project and then the Planning Commission, to a tee, said that they no longer want to follow the lead of their now defunct Planning Director Rebecca Willis.
Willis had determined correctly that a storage facility was like a warehouse and that therefore it fit into the C1 zoning. It was perfectly clear that the Commissioners had discussed this out of public view, either via email or jointly, which violates the Brown Act.
Staff had to say that they will have to return in January with a new recommendation due to their anti-storage facility decision.
Of course, we can see that Supervisor Callaway had personally gotten to each Commissioner and told them to find a way to vote against it or she would not be re-elected for the umpteenth time in 2014. There is no corruption in Calaveras County, RIGHT?

Is the Tryon agenda, "no growth", until Tryonville comes forward?
Please tell us someone (anyone really!) is running AGAINST Ms. Corruption/Callaway for our district! Please..... ?
No. Last time we got just anyoned and that one was attached to a racist lunatic. we have to be careful.
If no one steps up, Ms. Callaway will win without a vote.
