We just heard a rumor that Pat Garrahan, a 23 year resident of Valley Springs, has filed to run against Gary Kuntz for Sheriff.
Garrahan is a veteran with two tours in Afghanistan and is a retired Police Officer. When we hear more we will let you know.

This is such good news. Kuntz doesn't seem to have the abililty to get his men to clean up the streets of druggies.
If they had just TRIED to catch the person who stole from our house. It's like they don't try. I'm ready to support a new sheriff.
Are you kidding. They feel sorry for them, seem to be friends with the criminals, treat them as if they are customers and people who vote for Kuntz. I don't know what to do except to vote for someone new.
I've seen the sheriff at club meetings, but maybe he needs to be patrolling the backstreets instead.
The other day I heard that his deputies are busy pulling over residents for traffic irregularities for CHP and then letting them go. Why aren't they in my neighborhood catching the criminals?
Another unprecedented gathering of "in lieu" signatures, by the Kuntz campaign, will tell a story in the Sheriff's race.
If only two people are in the primary election, then the final vote count will tell the real story.
May the best person win.
Let's get this race moving!
Thank you Mr. Garrahan for your service to our country.
Two occupational scenarios come to mind. He served as a member of the Military police and retired from the military. OR
He served as a police officer for city/local police agency, was a member of the National Guard and was called up for duty in Afghanistan twice. Either way, welcome aboard the political roller coaster, Calaveras Politics.
Why signatures? He has beau coup bucks? I wouldn't sign it!
Beau Coup bucks, did you sign last time?
Next one to boot out is the DA in the county!
