Cecil Smedsvig Malmin, age 96, was born October 8, 1917 in Astoria, Oregon and passed away January 22, 2014 in San Andreas.A retired electrician for NASA, Cecil was a Shriner, Navy veteran of WWII where he received 2 Purple Hearts.
He was a member of the Purple Heart Association and Veteran of Foreign Wars post 2600 in San Andreas, state secretary of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, and member of the Sons of Norway.
Cecil is survived by his son Tor Malmin of Angels Camp, daughter Anna Lloyd of Grass Valley, 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
No services will be held at Cecil's request.
Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
