On January 25, 2014 at 9:30 AM CHP reports that Judith Diane Teixeira (69) was traveling on Hwy 4 in a 2007 Toyota just west of Main Street in Douglas Flat at approximately 50 MPH before slowing to a stop to make a northbound turn (left) onto Main.
Geneva T. Smolinski (29) of Santa Maria was traveling eastbound on Hwy 4 in a 2010 Kia, just west of Main Street at approximately 50-55 MPH before coming to a stop behind Teixeira.
Katherine A Row (24) of Arnold was traveling eastbound on Hwy 4 just west of Main Street in a 2012 Ford at approximately 50-55 MPH and behind Smolinski.
Due to her unsafe speed she was unable to stop in time to avoid the Kia that was stopped in front of her. Consequently, the front end of the Ford collided with the back end of the Kia. The impact from the collision caused the Kia to collide with the back end of Teixeira's Toyota.
All parties remained on scene and waited for emergency personnel. Geneva Solinski was taken to Mark Twain Hospital with injuries. The others were not injured.
