Traffic Collision on Hwy 4

  On January 20 at 2:10 PM Kaylynne Anderson (17) of Avery, was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer eastbound on Hwy 4 approaching Moran Rd
in Arnold at approximately 50-55 MPH.

   Kristina Zimmerman (16) of Copperopolis was a passenger in the Explorer.

   Kevin Siewert (53) of Arnold, was driving a 1989 Ford F250 from Moran to westbound Hwy 4 at approximately 5 MPH.

   As Siewert accelerated in the F250 from the stop sign, he failed to yield the right of way to the Explorer, according to CHP.

   Anderson observed the F250 pulling out from the intersection and she steered the Explorer to the left in an attempt to avoid a collision.

   The right front of the F250 collided with the right side of the Explorer.  Following the collision, both parties drove their respective vehicles into the Camp Connell General Store parking lot and called 911.

   Additional passengers in the Explorer were Isaac Newton (17) of Arnold, Brody Pedro (16) of Lodi, Madeline McDonald (15) of Woodbridge, Gabriel Walker (16) of Lodi and Elisha Vaca (17) of Stockton.

   Kaylynne Anderson was taken to Sonora Regional Hospital with minor injuries. Kristina Zimmerman was taken to Sonora Regional Hospital with moderate injuries.

   Alcohol/Drugs are not considered to be a contributing factor in this collision. The collision is still under investigation.
