Answers about the Edmund G. Brown Aquaduct--collapse??

Edmund G. Brown
Last week, just before it started raining, we called several places and were referred to the State
Water Management in Sacramento.

This morning, we received a call back from Paul Massero to answer our questions. Very interesting!!

The main question our readers have asked us is why the Edmund G Brown Aquaduct is always at a full level flowing to Southern California just west of Tracy.

Mr. Massero explained that if the water level was lowered, the canal, which was engineered and built back in the '60's, would likely lose its stability and could well collapse. COLLAPSE??

In answer to our other question; who gets that water?  he told us that many farmers have contracts with the state for that water in the Central Valley and that eventually it goes to Los Angeles.

that's amazing. How come nobody told us this before. Collapse. Well designed, huh?
