Dawn Hartwig of Angels Camp
Dawn Hartwig of Angels Camp passed away due to a traffic accident on February 6, 2014 at Sonora Regional Medical Center in Sonora.
She was 44.
She was born on July 24, 1969 in Oakland to David and Danielle Hartwig.
She was a resident of Calaveras County for 40 years. Dawn was a mother, gifted artist, sculptor and musician.
She enjoyed horseback riding, playing her guitar, singing and she was a skilled chess and pool
player.
Dawn worked alongside Miles Metzger for years at his studio. In recent years she became a published author of books that instruct people on how to carve soft stones.
Dawn is survived by her daughter Serenity Heather Dawn Genescritti. Heather, as she is referred to, will be residing in Kailua, Kona Hawaii with her father Frank Genescritti.
Her Grandfather and Grandmother, Frank (Pat) Genescritti and Aunt Judy also reside on Kona.
Dawn is survived by her step-mother Hanne Hartwig of Spring Valley, James Gregory of Bellingham, Washington, Ginger Gregory of Napa, Edward Wedertz of Las Vegas, Nevada; Kim Kemper of Indianapolis, Indiana and Re (Craig) Anderson of Sonora.
She was preceded in death by her father, David of Chicago, Illinois and her loving grandfather Al Gregory of Napa.
Viewing will begin at 1 PM to 6 PM on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Angels Memorial Chapel in Angels Camp.
A Celebration of Life will be held in April and will be announced. Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
