Dear Editor:
I was reading your article about crime in Ebbetts Pass. As a resident of Arnold, I have been concerned for some time, due to closed businesses and no work.
Often we find that people who don't work, or only work part time develop more emotional problems than they already have.
They tend to commit more crimes and feel that it's ok. Work is the answer to Ebbetts Pass's problems.
Both the neighbor harassment issue, which I have been told is worse than ever and the criminals being allowed to roam at will without the Sheriff's caring are serious problems.
My family and I have decided to support Pat Garrahan for Sheriff. He's both a veteran and an experienced police officer.
He just seems to think different, unlike our current Sheriff, who moves slowly around and takes little interest. Right now, he just wants another 4 years, but for what?
Anyway I got this off my chest. Meet Garrahan and see what you think.
One family sick of the crime in Ebbetts Pass

It's the same in our part of the county, valley springs has so many criminals and druggies, you don't feel safe anywhere, even in your own home.
In the Sheriff's Office, it's the top down that is causing the problem. If the Sheriff doesn't set the example, no one will have any honor.
There isn't anything Kuntz won't do to get re-elected. I totally believe that people are in danger if they speak badly about him. As if his department isn't bad enough.
Embarrassment comes to mind
