Missing Woman found deceased

   According to the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office on February 8, 2014 a call was made to the Sheriff's Office to report a missing woman,
56-year-old Lauri Ann Thacker, who lived in Jamestown.

   Thacker was a dependent adult, who had vision issues and was being cared for by various family members, and was staying at a home in Willow Springs.

   Thacker had apparently voluntarily walked away from the residence without the family's knowledge.

    Several on duty Tuolumne County Sheriff's Deputies started an initial search for Thacker. After she could not be located Tuolumne county Search and Rescue was notified and they began a search of the area.

   The search was conducted until approximately 2 AM on February 9, 2014, when it was suspended until daylight hours.

   Search and Rescue was initiating another search operation for Thacker about 7:30 AM when a resident of the 20000 block of Caylor Drive saw what appeared to be a body down an embankment in heavy vegetation.

   Sheriff's personnel responded to the scene and confirmed that the body located was deceased. and was positively identified as Lauri Ann Thacker.

   Cause of death is pending upon completion of an autopsy and toxicology tests.
