Roger Michael Arbour of Sheep Ranch died Thursday, February 20, 2014. He was 71.
A native of
Detroit, Michigan, he was born September 4, 1942 to Joseph and Marie Arbour.
He began working at 11 years old stoking shelves for the local grocery store. He went on to work in the restaurant industry until he finished high school.
After school he began working in the foundry business first as a payroll clerk and worked his way up to general manager.
In 1980 he bought an American Sunroof franchise and operated it for many years.
Roger moved to California in 1974 after meeting and marrying Shelia, his wife of over 39 years. In 1991 he moved his family to Calaveras County and retired to raise his son, Christopher.
His passion and love was for his family. His hobbies were politics, boating and guns. He was a lifetime member of the Republican Party and a member in the National Rifle Association.
Roger is survived by his wife, Shelia; two children; Chris of Valley Springs and Shawn of Holly, Colorado; two grandchildren Ron and Jade; brother-in-laws, Michael (Sue), Dennis, Kevin (Jodi) and Tim (Amanda); sister-in-law Colleen and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, niece and nephew.
There will be a Memorial Service at 1 PM on Saturday March 1, 2014 at the San Andreas Memorial Chapel.
