After seeing that Joseph Kelly was appointed by the Calaveras Board of Supervisors to be the representative of District 1 for the Agricultural Advisory Committee, we heard there was a problem.
We sent an email to the CAO Lori Norton asking about the duly passed approval by the Board for Kelly's appointment.
To this date, we have heard nothing in response. We then asked Joseph Kelly if there was a problem in a phone call.
He informed us that we had heard correctly, that indeed, the next day the Ag Commissioner for the county told him he was not actually appointed, that there was an error made.
We went back and checked the Board packet and could see that indeed, Mr. Kelly was properly listed and approved by the Calaveras Board of Supervisors on January 28, 2014.
Mr. Kelly told us that he spoke with someone else, who apparently verified that he was NOT appointed. At some point he decided he would write a letter of resignation, which you see here below.
Why do things like this go on in Calaveras County? Who makes all these mistakes, if indeed it was a mistake? Mr. Kelly had been looking forward to serving on the committee, but most likely does not feel welcome now!
