For the first time ever, to our knowledge, a CCWD (Calaveras County Water District) meeting was shown on Comcast channel 9.
The Sierra Sentinel has been critical of the CCWD Board for years for not wanting to video their meetings for the government channel.
At first glance, around 5:15 PM, we looked at each other and said "Who are those people?" Then we realized it was Jeff Davidson, Don Stump, Kent Ratterman, Bob Dean and Dennis Dooley, our elected Directors of CCWD.
CCWD is supported by ALL property taxpayers in Calaveras County, whether they are receiving water from the district or not. The public has a right to see what they are doing.
We sent a thank you to the Directors and Mitch Dion, their Exec. With the water wars ongoing and the situation with sewage in Lake Tulloch, these meetings are very informative.
