School bus and Harley collide in Sonora

   Daniel Lawson (41) of Sonora was driving a 2005 Thomas School Bus northbound on Hwy 49 at N. Washington Street in Sonora.

    Morgan  Ridings (27) of Sonora was riding  a 2002 Harley Davidson southbound on Hwy 49 N. of N. Washington Street.

   Lawson proceeded to make a left turn onto N. Washington Street. directly into the path of the Harley.

   Ridings applied the brakes of the Harley and steered left to avoid the collision with the school bus.

   The Harley collided with the rear of the school bus and Ridings continued off the motorcycle and also collided with the school bus.

   Ridings was transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center by ambulance for major injuries to his head and hand.

   There were also 8 students and a coach on board the school bus. No injuries to the passengers was reported.
