Per CalFire, due to the extreme menace of wildfire and its potential to destroy life, property and natural resources; and due to current and predicted fire weather, the lack of precipitation, the dryness of vegetation and the increase in fire activity, all burn permits are suspended per Josh White, Tuolumne Calaveras Unit Chief.
Under Section 4423(b) of the Public Resources Code, the Director of the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection uses his authority to suspend burning due to "unusual fire conditions" that exist in California as of 8 AM Monday, June 2, 2014 until further notice.
