According to the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office, on Sunday May 11, 2014 about 2:30 PM, the Office was notified of a missing person in the "Cleo's Bath" area of Pinecrest Lake.
The missing person is a 26 year old member of the US Air Force stationed at Travis Air Force Base.
This missing person was with a group of friends when he dove into the water at the inlet above Pinecrest Lake. He failed to resurface, according to the report.
A search was conducted by the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Team, Tuolumne County Fire Department and the US Forest Service. He was not located.
USFS is monitoring the area and an additional search will be conducted when the water flow slows, allowing for a more thorough and safe search, per the Sheriff's Office.
