Bob Ravetto was born in Mountain View to Antonio and Marie Ravetto. He would call that small town home for several years,
where he went through grade school and ultimately Mountain view High School.
He lettered in football and wrestling, excelling in the latter, to which he was named MP in 1958 and 1959.
His affinity though, was working on anything with a motor. His high school years were filled with fixing and racing any vehicle that had four wheels and a steering wheel.
He was extremely gifted and creative, which eventually led him to making a career out of his abilities.
He worked at several auto repair shops/stores in Mountain View, and eventually becae partners in his own shop in the downtown area.
After a number of years, he decided to open a shop of his own with his wife Jan.
Bob and Jan met when they were both out of high school, eventually marrying in September of 1964.
They had a son, Ronald Anthony in May of 1967 and then another son Rick Joseph in august of 1969.
They settled in San Jose, where they lived for a number of years before "retiring" in 2005 and moving to Arnold in 2008 to "their little piece of paradise." They quickly made several friends and felt at home right away.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jan and son Rick. He was preceded in death by son Ron in 2008.
Numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as countless friends will continue to tell stories about Bob for years to come.
He was always willing to give anyone, including complete strangers, the shirt off his back and his wit and sarcasm will be greatly missed.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held on Saturday May 17, 2014 at 1 PM at Angels Memorial Chapel in Angels Camp.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Hospice of Amador and Calaveras. Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
