UPDATE at 6:14 PM: Per Joseph Kelly, the wind has changed and the smoke is blowing southeast and out of the valley. He lives just across Poole Station Rd from the fire.
He says that it appears pilots have it under control. A lot of hot spots, white smoke rising. The helicopter pilots
are on it, dropping water. The aircraft are still circling. Those who live on Poole Station and in the area want to know what caused the fire.
Kelly also looks out for his elderly neighbors and spent yesterday plowing his property just in cases like today's fire.
UPDATE at 5:30 PM: Per Cal Fire the Oak Fire is 0% contained at this time. No structures have been destroyed. The evacuation center is at Copperopolis Elementary School on School Street in Copperopolis.
UPDATE at 5 PM: CalFire has named this the Oak Fire. It is currently 100 acres and started around 12:30 PM. CHP is assisting, keeping Poole Station Rd closed off at Hwy 4. The cause is under investigation.
UPDATE at 4:45 PM: According to Joseph Kelly, who lives on Poole Station, the fire is pretty good size now. He says the wind has been shifting through the afternoon. He just looked and its moving to the south across the face of the hill. It's already burned up to the top during the start up. According to Joseph, there are ashes and burned leaves floating around and he thinks its going to take awhile to extinguish.

June 22, 2014: Due to a fire, the Sheriff's Department in Calaveras County is requesting that people avoid trying to use Poole Station Rd. to Hwy 4 from Riata Way for the next few hours.
The fire is located between Hunt Rd and Pool Station Rd and evacuations are in place.
