Jack Williams (80) was born in Spencer, Iowa on April 7, 1934. He moved to Calaveras County in 1936 with his parents Art and Louise Williams to start new lives.Jack lived in Calaveras attending local schools, joined the Navy in 1952 and spent 3 years stationed at Pearl Harbor.
He worked for Rasmussen Lumber Mill in San Andreas and later took a position with the Calaveras Cement Plant until it closed in 1984. Then he took a position with the San Andreas Cemetery District.
Jack's interests included his family, the San Francisco Giants and the San Francisco 49ers.
Jack is survived by his wife Melinda, children Teri Williams of Jackson, Jerry Williams of San Andreas, Jackie Townsend of Tracy and Ron (Julie) Williams of Charlotte, North Carolina. He also leaves grandchildren David, Jonathan and Lauren Townsend, Sydney and Scarlet Williams and Michelle Williams.
Services will be held Friday, June 20, 2014 at 10 AM at San Andreas Memorial Chapel in San Andreas. Following the services, a reception will be held at the VFW Hall in San Andreas.
