Dear Sierra Sentinel:
Last night on the news was the story about the Sheriff in Yolo County. The Grand Jury there wrote a rather scathing account of the way the sheriff's department there is run.
The Grand Jury apparently referred to it as being like "the Wild Wild West". The election there is over, just like ours, and the Sheriff won re-election. So what can be done?
Calaveras County is in a similar situation unfortunately, with deputies doing the Sheriff's bidding, arresting those he doesn't like and NOT arresting those he knows are guilty all over the county.
Calaveras County's problem is not the "Wild, Wild West", but more like the MAFIA, in my opinion.
The Grand Jury, I am told, has supposedly investigated all kinds of accusations, and thanks to the Sierra Sentinel, we have seen that women are especially badly treated here.
What seems to be true is that Mr. Wilensky campaigned heavily, saying that I believe is that a crooked Democrat is better than an honorable Republican.
If true, Calaveras has hit a new low, and respect for our county has hit bottom trough in the pigs pen.
Someone who cares in Calaveras County

A recall would the only option at this point.
The Calaveras County Grand Jury wont touch Kuntz, the Foreperson has had an ongoing intimate relationship with him for years.
