On June 17, 2014 Lucia Maria Child passed from this world after a long and difficult illness.Born and christened Lucia Castilllo in Merced on September 3, 1943, she grew up in White Pines and attended Bret Harte High School.
She was the loving wife of 52 years to husband Bruce, loving mother of Shelley (Hank) Baxter of Angels Camp and Bruce (Dixie) Child III of Aurora, Colorado; one grandson Andrew and two granddaughters Andrea and Natalie.
Lucia loved her family, loved taking care of little children and was an avid gardener.
