Cal Fire reports that they responded to a grass fire on Schaads Road in West Point on July 20, 2014 around 6 PM.
It was determined that lightning had caused the fire. A small 20' x 20' spot of grass was burned before it was extinguished.
Cal Fire also responded to a report of a fire on Forest Road 6N03 in West Point around the same time on July 20, 2014.
In this case some timber was burned after being struck by lightning in the 20' x 30' spot, valued at around $1000.
