The term SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) is alive and active in Calaveras County. The Pentagon and Homeland Security have been insanely assigning these weapons even to tiny places like Calaveras County.
John Stossel recently addressed this terrifying fact! We don't agree with a lot of things Stossel states, but this one is terrifyingly true!
These people and their weapons have been used, including a giant military style vehicle, for such things as a suspected suicide, and for trying to scare and harass a woman who reported a death threat from a friend of the Sheriff, among other minor disturbances.
With all the military style weapons and equipment that was purchased from the big manufacturers by our government, all the tiniest county and city police now have these weapons and vehicles at their disposal.
This is scary!! We know certain individuals that the Sheriff has on his SWAT Team. We feel they shouldn't even ben allowed to carry a weapon, much less be SWAT officers.
As John Stossel of FOX News says "Government always grows! Government is FORCE! Force is always dangerous!"
When you have a Sheriff who doesn't make wise decisions, and is uneducated, the citizens are in a very dangerous and predictably dangerous situation. It's only a matter of time!!
