Congressman McClintock attended a campaign rally he set up in Copperopolis last night, August 7, 2014. Tea Party conservatives from as far away as Arnold attended to support him.
Supervisor Merita Callaway said that it was a "good combination of supporters and those who questioned McClintocks' record".
It was clear, however, that he set it up for his tea party supporters to praise and defend him. About 70 people attended the meeting.
One questioned about a certain House Bill that was asked, McClintock had no knowledge of, and another asked him why would anyone vote for him. His Tea Party faithful yelled out "I will"!
He has been criticized of late for his failed bills to change the name of parts of Yosemite, for giving
away the burned Rim Fire logs to his timber interests, and a bill to sell off land in National Parks.
Art Moore, the Veteran who is running against him, is more moderate and supports adding land to the National Parks, especially Yosemite. It will be a tight race in November.
