According to the Calaveras Sheriff's Office, they were dispatched to Valley Springs Elementary School on July 31, 2014 at 8:10 AM to investigate a report of a female student being coaxed
to enter a suspicious vehicle.
On July 30, 2014 at about 4 PM a female student rode the bus from Calaveras High School to Valley Springs Elementary.
She was waiting for a parent to arrive, when she was approached by an unknown person driving a light blue Chevrolet pickup.
The driver pulled along side the female student who was standing near the gymnasium and asked her if she needed a ride.
The female student refused and the driver accelerated away from her. The driver made no further attempts towards the female student.
This incident was initially posted to a social website and later reported to the Calaveras Sheriff, who is aware of the incident and conducting a follow-up.
The driver was described as a white male adult about 30 years of age, medium build and blond hair.
He drove a light blue Chevrolet, extended cab, two wheel drive pick up truck. This case is still being investigated, according to the Sheriff.
