It seems the only people who disagreed with what the California State Assembly did last week was the Calaveras County Supervisors,
who spend so much time praying that their heads don't see clearly.
Due to fiscal impacts, the State Appropriations Committee "stopped" the bill after it was shown to be extremely costly to the State and . Amador County, and most all water agencies went to Sacramento and opposed AB 1199, which was sponsored by a Bay Area senator.

How much did two hearings cost? This board seems to do two hearings often.
Wright did not want it to come back, but apparently Edson did to make the CCWD guys happy. They all voted for it the first time. They waste our money over and over and over. Then they wonder why we're in debt up to our eyeballs.
SB 1199 wasn't killed on a straight up or down vote, but in a procedural ploy trumped up to stop the bill. The "costs" cited by the Assembly Appropriations Chairman to move SB 1199 were undocumented and unsubstantiated. The dollar figures didn't come from the allegedly affected state agencies, but appear to have come from Amador Water Agency's lobbyist. Sad day for the democratic process.
Is this the Katherine Evatt who replaced Chris Wright at Foothill Conservancy. They think they should run the world.
Them and the MVS.comm people, that Infusino attorney and Marty Crane are the worst. They attend Planning Commission meetings, try to write the GP in their own interest, don't care anything about the regular folks in Calaveras.
Miss Evatt, are you saying this was an illegal move?
I, for one, supported the Wild and Scenic. I live near there and don't want anything to change, no dams!
You're right that ONE TEENY group should not be able to decide whether we have any water in the future.
