September 8, 2014: Around 4 AM this morning, it began raining in Ebbetts Pass. At first the wonderful smell drifted in through the open windows, causing some to run to bring in their patio cushions.
Then the sound of the raindrops, more than welcome in the dry Stanislaus National Forest, allowing a moment of relaxation from the fear of fire and the dreaded drought. Clearing the air and washing the dust off the trees, no one will complain of rain in our area for quite a while.
