According to CHP, on September 15, 2014 at around 2 PM Jonathan T. Murphy (20) of Arnold was driving a 1995 Mitsubishi eastbound on Mountain Ranch Road,
approaching Lower Michel Road in San Andreas at approximately 45 MPH.
Murphy allowed the Mitsubishi to travel to the right where its right tires left the paved portion of the roadway.
Murphy then steered the vehicle to the left in an attempt to correct the Mitsubishi's path of travel.
However, he was unable to maintain control of the car, which then overturned an unknown number of times and the right front end collided with the dirt embankment before coming to rest.
Per CHP driving under the influence was a contributing factor in this collision. Murphys was flown to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto for treatment of his moderate injuries. He was also arrested according to CHP.
