Enough is enough!! Someone could have been killed!

   The Murphys Grade Road Hwy 4 repaving project has been an inconvenience at best until today. Today we say "enough is enough"!


  Ebbetts Pass Fire and ambulance were at the scene of a traffic accident just above Utica Dam around 4:10 PM this afternoon. As the ambulance pulled over to the right and left its lights on, vehicles heading east were just starting to move  when....

 .....flying around the sharp corner headed down (or west) was a big white asphalt semi that had just emptied its load at the road project (which was in Hathaway Pines at the time).

    When it saw the wreck, the fire engines, etc. he slammed on his brakes, and of course he jackknifed across the highway just in front of one vehicle.  He left big black marks on the highway where he slid. He got it straightened out and smiled.

   Then around the same corner comes another one flying. The same thing happened; he slams on the brakes, jackknifes across the highway, as the Ebbetts Pass Ambulance watches and the rest of us slam on our brakes and pull as much to the right as far as we could.

 

   Upon reaching home, I called 911 where I was told she would take the message instead of transferring me to CHP.  I said "I'll call them myself then."

    Calling the San Andreas office, another woman answers the phone, seems to be concerned and says she needs to put me on hold.  5 minutes later a woman who was not at all concerned came on the phone, and I realized they really don't "give a damn"!
