We were 5 cars back from where traffic was stopped. Praying the rider will recover from this accident.
We passed this accident within minutes after it happened. At that point only the forest service truck was on the scene. The motorcycle was a larger touring model on its side and it looked like it hit the ice on a leaning uphill curve. The rider was prone on the embankment and a woman was covering him with a blanket. It appeared he was wearing full gear from the look of his legs from under the blanket. Two guys were attempting traffic control before the CHP and other emergency vehicles arrived (based on passing them going to the accident as we continued west on 88). In total we counted eight responding vehicles - 4 CHP, 1 fire rescue, 1 tender, a forest district supervisor, and the ambulance which I assume they rolled from Jackson. It was disarmingly clear roads going *up* to Carson yesterday and the accident occurred right about where the shady area and snow began in cold temperatures. It would be appreciated if the Sentinel News could follow-up on this story. As a rider myself it was a spooky reminder and I pray the guy comes through the injuries and ordeal.
