Burglary suspect arrested in Angels Camp--PD busy in November

   According to Angels Camp Police, on November 3, 2014 at approximately 9:45 PM, the Angels Camp Police Department took a burglary report in the 600 block of Tuolumne Avenue.

   Items stolen included electronics, tools, a jacket, a pair of skis and a quilt.  Upon further investigation, 45 year old Angels Camp resident Bret Snider was determined to be a suspect of the burglary.

   Snider was located on November 10, 2014 at approximately 6:15 PM pushing a shopping cart near the 600 block of Tuolumne Avenue.

   Snider first attempted, according to the report, to conceal his identity by wearing a hood on his head and giving the officer a false name.

   Snider was in possession of the stolen jacket, all other stolen items are still outstanding.  Snider was arrested for possession of stolen property, providing false information to a peace officer, unlawful possession of a shopping cart and a warrant.

   On November 8, 2014 at approximately 2 PM the Angels Camp Police Department received a report of a disoriented female carrying a bucket of rocks in the Rite Air parking lot.

   The female was identified as 66 year old Douglas Flat resident Linda Novy. Novy consented to a search of her belongings and the officer located 10 grams of methamphetamine and a methamphetamine pipe.

   Novy was cited for possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia and released.

   On November 8, 2014 at approximately 2:45 PM, 26 year old Angels Camp resident Mitchelle Ballard was contacted in the 600 block of Stanislaus Avenue.

   Ballard was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail for two felony warrants.

   On November 10, 2014 at approximately 10 PM an Angels Camp Police Officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of North Main and Hwy 4 for speeding and equipment violations.

   Immediately upon contact with the driver, the officer could smell an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the interior of the vehicle.

  The driver was identified as 22 year old Angels Camp resident George Jones.  Jones submitted to a series of field sobriety tests and the officer determined Jones was driving under the influence of alcohol. Jones was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail for allegedly Driving Uner the Influence of Alcohol.
