Molly Maxwell "The Telephone Lady"

UPDATE:  The Celebration of Life for Molly Maxwell will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 11 AM at San Andreas Memorial Chapel.

Molly Sue Maxwell, manager of the Valley Springs office of Calaveras Telephone and known as "The Telephone Lady" has died. She was 52.

Molly passed away Friday, November 7, 2014 at her home in Valley Springs after a yearlong battle with lung cancer.

At the time of her death she was surrounded by her sons Joseph and Ryan McMillan and her husband Dwight Maxwell.

Molly was born July 24, 1962 in Redwood City to Richard G. Hall and Edith Barrows.  She spent her earlier years in Omaha, Nebraska, later moving to California with her father Richard, where she remained for the rest of her life.

Molly began working for Calaveras Telephone shortly after she moved to Valley Springs in the late
1990's.

She was largely responsible for operations and advertisement for Calaveras Telephone and she took pride in her relations with her customers.

Molly was a creative soul who enjoyed challenging herself in all facets of life. She enjoyed crafting; beading, crocheting and the rafting of delicate jewelry.   She littered her family with gifts produced from all her crafts.

Molly was strong-willed, courageous and creative. She was the first one to stick up for her family, but if one of them were out of line she would be the first to give them a swift kick in the arse.

From this she raised her family with love, loyalty and discipline. Her motto for life was, "Throw me to the wolves and I will return leading the pack".

Molly is survived by her husband Dwight Maxwell of Valley Springs, sons Joseph and Ryan McMillan of Hayward and Sonora respectively; her mother Edith Rutherford of Waipahu, Hawaii; and her sister Sally Hall of Valley Springs.  She also has surviving all of her animals in which she adores, including several cats.

The Celebration of her Life will be held at the San Andreas Memorial Chapel in San Andreas. The exact time to be announced by the family.

Molly's family would like to extend a special thanks to the Hospice of Amador and Calaveras for their excellent care in aiding both her and her family ensuring her final days were as comfortable as possible.

Please send donations to the Hospice of Amador and Calaveras instead of flower arrangements per request of Molly's family.
