According to the Modesto Police Department on January 15, 2015 agents with the Stanislaus Drug Enforcement Agency (SDEA) served a search warrant at a home in the 1600 block of Sungate Drive in Ceres.
Authorities had been investigating information they received about an ongoing power theft.
Agents seized 139 plants from the second story, which had been converted to a grow area. The kitchen had been converted to a Butane Haney Oil (BHO) lab where agents found almost two ounces of Honey Oil.
Honey oil is a form of cannabis where the marijuana plant is introduced to a solvent extraction process.
Hash oil can be the most potent of the main cannabis products because of its high level of psychoactive compound per volume. The approximate street value for this operation is well over $100,000.
Two men were in the home when SDEA arrived. One man was able to elude capture after running from the area.
The other, 31 year old Omar Segura of Ceres, was arrested for alleged cultivation of marijuana, manufacturing a BHO lab, theft of utilities and committing a felony while out on bail.
