Sign Language Interpreters cost City of Angels Camp plenty

Due to the recent election of Ms. Amanda Folendorf to the Angels Camp City Council, changes have had to be made.

As is law,  sign language interpreters are required to be paid by the taxpayers when demanded by anyone participating in City government meetings.

According to the City, the cost is $75 per hour for each interpreter, with a two hour minimum, plus mileage.  They are using two interpreters, meaning that a minimum of $300 plus mileage is required for each meeting.

We are trying to find out if she will have a sign interpreter assigned to her when she visits with the public or has the many other meetings required by a City Councilperson.
