UPDATE: The person who was pronounced dead at the scene was the driver of the cattle truck. He was 33 years old and lived in Chowchilla.
There were no students on the school bus at the time of the crash.
January 22, 2015: Around 6:30 AM CHP received a report of a cattle truck and a school bus colliding on Hwy 165 at Turner Avenue, near Hilmar.
A horrid scene awaited the officers, as one person was pinned in, many injured, including many of the cattle in the truck. Some were already dead, and many injured, including calves.
One person has been confirmed to have died in this collision.
