Calaveras County lucky to have David Tunno

If you haven't had a chance to view the recent Planning Commission meeting on Channel 9 (Comcast), you really should.  We are fortunate to have
David Tunno as a Commissioner now, and didn't just sit there as most new commissioners do who know nothing.

David Tunno, who was recently appointed to the Planning Commission by Supervisor of D5 Steve Kearney, came out firing; he stated that the money these consultants get for writing a General Plan (over a million just from Calaveras, which was thrown in the trash) is a complete con that the
Supervisors at the time fell for.

He also stated that there should be no excuse for a General Plan to be unreadable, nor easily understood by any member of the public, making it so difficult  for any normal person to make a reply or comment on it.  Thank you Mr. Kearney, for appointing someone with a head on his shoulders and the GUTS to tell the truth for a change!!!

I bet the Plan Dire. wishes he was dumb like most of the appointed commissioners are. Then they program train them to believe as they do. Good work, Tunno.

Haven't seen it yet. Sounds like he's a good one.

I just caught the end of the video. Saw that crane woman praising him, too. Amazing, the extremist anti-growthers and the pro-growthers agreeing on something, huh?

In 2003 the Governor's Office of Planning and Research released a survey indicating the average costs of a general plan update was $845,000 for counties and $255,000 for cities.

I guess the board at the time didn't get the memo. So much for CSAC, RCRC or maybe the county representative didn't want to tell?

It's all about getting contracts for their friends and political supporters. The entire government is like that.

a whole lot of information goes through CSAC & RCRC, that we never hear about. General Plan information from the
State of California.
Have you read the draft General Plan? If not you should, with skepticism. It is severely lacking of need to know information.
