A family who donated land to the Tracy School District in 1971, had a clause put in, that if the District no longer used the land for a school, that it must be returned to them. Mr. Yamada bought the land after being released from a Japanese internment camp in 1946.
In 2009 the school was closed and at that time the Yamada family was told the land would be returned. When the district heard that the Yamada's were considering leasing it to a charter school, they stopped the process. Now there may be a lawsuit.
