UPDATE: Chains are now required on all vehicles without 4 wheel drive and snow tires on Hwy 88 at Silver Lake.If you're a snow bunny, you will be happy to learn that ski resorts like Kirkwood and Squaw Valley should see a foot of snow over the weekend.
Be sure to carry chains whether you go over 50 or 88, 4 or 108 to get to the snow. Have fun!
