Calaveras Arts Council announces winners

  The Calaveras Arts Council has picked the winners for the High School Art Contest.

  And the winners are:   In color photography,
1st place Mayee Breauz for Serenity; 2nd place Michelle McFadden for Hawaii's Sunset.  Both are Bret Harte students.

   For Digital Computer Art:  1st place Justine Erin Beltrann for Mz Hyde - A Self Portrait; 2nd place Victoria Morgan for A Clown Prince of Crime and Third place Pattawat Sajjapornrat for Prima & Genus. All three are Bret Harte High School students.

   For Painting/Acrylic, Oil:  1st place is Joseph Kraft for Walking Bridge in Murphys Park; 2nd place is Kelly Baird for Self-Portrait, and 3rd place is Charli Balar for Sunset on the Farm. Kraft and Balar are Bret Harte students. Baird is from Calaveras High.

   For Painting/Watercolor:  1st place is Amelia Maurer for Beyauc, France; 2nd place is Avery Anderson for Still life with Teacup and 3rd place is Alison Ramsey for Woodland Sunrise. All three are Bret Harte students.

  For Pastels: 1st place is Matthew Ferreira for The Portuguese Couple. He is a Calaveras High student.

   For Drawing/ Illustration:  1st Place is Eric Figel for Eric & The Explorer. He is a Mountain Oaks student. 2nd place was Mikaylia Kunesh for Hidden Maiden and 3rd Place was to Eugene Skorobogator for Singularity. Both are Bret Harte students.

   For Ceramics-Functional:  1st place is Graceous Ross for Giant Oreo; 2nd place to Kendall Runion for Vase and 3rd place to Morgan Danfelt for Tree Box.  All three are CHS students.

   For Sculpture:  1st place to Kelly Baird for Fish Lantern, 2nd place to Hilary Sanchez for Tree of Life and 3rd place to Kendall Runion for Cover Jar.  All three are Calaveras High students.

   For Other/Mixed Media:  1st place to Erica Smith for Strings, 2nd place to Lizzy Blankenship for Not My Name. They are both Calaveras High students.  3rd place went to Zechariah Camden for The Mustang, a Bret Harte High student.

   The art will be displayed at the Gallery in San Andreas until April 19, 2015. Call 754-1774 for more information.
