As a result of the ACLU lawsuit. on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 the Calaveras County Counsel has AGAIN recommended the rescinding of Resolution 2014-101 praising the religious organization that Calaveras Supervisors Ponte and Edson worship so heavilyand wanted to control our government.
This, however, is NOT the first time that the County Counsel has recommended this; Pontiff Ponte and Pastor Edson were warned previously and ignored the recomm
endation, causing the county to get into a lawsuit. This has already cost Calaveras taxpayers money.
Ponte and Edson were asked to resign and apologize to the voters and taxpayers and they REFUSED, apparently saying "We need the jobs and OUR churches are counting on us"!
So, most likely the right wing extremists will fill the chambers again, and Edson and Ponte will worship them and refuse to rescind it, leading to more costly lawsuits.
These types, as was Darren Spellman have absolutely no business being elected officials as they cannot control themselves in their extremist religious beliefs and separation of church and state.

what will really be shown at this meeting is how the newest people oliveras and Kearney respond. very interesting to know if either one of them is an extremist.

no, I think Edson talks about praying all the time. probably hoping his wife will keeep slaving over that rest.
what's wrong with Calaveras that we can't just get normal people to represent us.
What is pathetic is that Edson and Ponte (Pontiff and Pastor!) went along with Spellman who wanted to push his religious beliefs on everyone in the county. Let's see what Ponte and Edson do on Tuesday. They should be apologizing to all of us!
