In the most recent stats, California registration has changed even more. The Republican registration has dropped to28.1% compared to 43.3% for Democrats and 23.3% for Decline to State.
It seems that moderate Republicans in California just cannot handle being identified with the extremist views of the GOP anymore.
The Sierra Sentinel owner is one of those moderates. One-time Republican business owners are leaving the GOP in droves because they no longer make any sense.
