UPDATE: As of 1:15 PM March 26, 2015 the Human Resources Director has not responded to our questions about the college degree for this $125,000 job opening.
Is it possible that they have a certain "friend" in mind for this job on the inside, who does not have a degree but to whom they want to pay a large sum of money?
At the Calaveras Supervisors meeting on March 24, 2015 David Tunno came to the podium to ask questions about a job opening the County was advertising.
The pay is around $125,000 a year for an assistant to the County Administrative Officer.
It requires 5 years of budget experience, but does NOT indicate what, if any, college degree is required. We sent an email to Human Resources asking for details and got no response. Apply before 5 PM on April 3, 2015.

Thank you Mr. Tunno for trying to bring this to the attention of our elected BOS. Just follow the chain of any of the big positions and it becomes readily apparent that they think way to much of themselves.
I wonder what legacy the new PW director is going to leave with the county? Remember Tommy Garcia and his doubling of the solid waste fee, adding more fees at the landfills?
It seems strange that material such as Ewaste can be disposed for free at local recycling facilities, but is a chargeable item over and above the annual solid waste fee.
Maybe Mr. Mauer and the BOS will decide that they were mislead by Tommy Garcia? Fat chance.
