In a letter written to the Calaveras LAFCo Board dated February 18, 2015 the Union Public Utility District, their Board objects to any changes or deletions of the current Sphere of Influence now served by UPUD.The City of Angels Camp, greedily trying to gobble up more and more territory for property tax revenue and their expensive water service, is attempting to steal the UPUD territory. UPUD recommends they remove Angels Camp from the Sphere of Influence that overlaps theirs for the benefit of the residents.
The Sierra Sentinel totally agrees with UPUD!
