Big Rig blocking Hwy 49 in Moke Hill area

UPDATE at  1:45 PM:  Hwy 49 is now open in both directions after nearly 5 hours.

UPDATE at 1:15 PM:  There is now one-way traffic control though the collision area per CHP.

UPDATE at 12:30 PM:  Hwy 49 is still closed between the top of 13 curves and the river. Avoid the area.

UPDATE:  We just learned that one of those big wood shavings trucks overturned on the highway, and that shavings are all over the roadway.

The mess will take some time to clean up. Avoid the area if possible. No injuries were reported.
This is near the river, but on the Calaveras County side.

April 14, 2015 at 9:40 AM:  What was called in to CHP as a traffic collision involving a big rig is now a traffic hazard, as the big rig will have to be towed from Hwy 49 near Dell 'Orto Road in the Mokelumne Hill area.

A big rig tow has been dispatched to the scene. Use extra caution if headed that direction.
