The Governor and legislators are threatening heavy fines on water districts in the state who cannot cut down water use by 25% over the 2013 amounts used. Shouldn't pools be outlawed in a drought?
But then they say they will allow people to continually refill their private swimming pools, up to a foot a week. If you've ever had a pool, you know that they lose at least that much and often more in the summer due to evaporation and "splashing".
And Southern California has pools in nearly every backyard. What a waste!! And we aren't even allowed to water our lawns or plants when they need it. We aren't allowed to fill our small fountains!! Something is wrong here!!
It does appear that our elected officials know where their big vote comes from, Southern California. They wouldn't want to p*** them off now, would they?
