I decided to write you about something I'm truly disgusted about. A little over a year ago, my wife and I were asked to donate money, etc. to a couple who we were told were destitute due to unforeseen circumstances.
We did donate and now I'm steaming mad. While we were at a place of recreation, we saw them wasting money, and I had to wonder if it was mine.
I'm intentionally not giving details or they will know they were spotted. I am turning them in. My attorney says if you donate cash, retail items or services, it's hard to prove, but if you write a check, it can be traced.
I want to remind everyone that not all of those claiming to be hard up really are. And business people, be careful when someone comes into your place of business.
Only donate to honorable charities with a number from the IRS, and with a check only. If you care about your money, you need to know there are many people I now consider to be thieves.

You can blame no one but yourselves. Soft heart earns broken wallet I always say. Were they gambling or spending or what?
Are you kidding. There are lots of crooks around pretending to be needy. Be careful. You work hard for your money.
There are lots of scams out there. If you are stupid enough to donate, kiss it goodbye.
Sorry bout that. Happened to me once. learned my lesson.
How funny. I read this and then a guy came up to me and asked for gas money. I said no without even thinking.Didn't know him. Then saw him going up to everyone asking for money.
Perfect example. There are takers and givers. More are takers. Beware of them.
